UniConnected isn't a job board. It's a human-centred matching experience that helps the right people find each other at the right time.
Our Story
Started at Melbourne. Built for everyone.
UniConnected started with a simple idea at the University of Melbourne:
“What if finding meaningful opportunities didn't depend on luck, networks, or being in the right place at the right time?”
Students were looking for real experience. Academics wanted stronger industry connections. Alumni wanted ways to give back. Organisations wanted talent with purpose. But everyone was searching in different places. So we built a platform that brings everyone together.
UniConnected began as a small pilot project in the Faculty of Education, to help match students with real-world learning opportunities. It worked, really well.
From there, it grew into a bigger vision: a place where students, academics, alumni and industry partners can explore, discover and connect through shared purpose.
In February 2026, we relaunched the employment opportunities pool where students interested in part time and casual work can create a profile and connect with schools and other organisations.

The People Behind It
Meet the Team
Dr Amanda Samson
CEO and Founder
Amanda is the founder of UniConnected with over 30 years of experience in education. She is an Academic at the Faculty of Education, University of Melbourne. Her expertise is in leadership education, engagement and partnerships. Amanda has worked in schools, education consulting, professional development and executive search. Her research focuses on engagement between universities, students and industry partners, mentoring and leadership.
Bassam Jalgha
Chief Technology Officer
Bassam Jalgha is a technologist and engineering leader with over 15 years of experience building hardware and software products. He co-founded Band Industries, shipping 150,000+ Roadie Music products globally. As CTO of Roadie Music, he led four mobile apps and Roadie Coach, an AI-powered music education platform. A former Entrepreneur in Residence at the American University of Beirut, Bassam joined UniConnected as CTO in 2025, where he leads platform development.
